Videos and shorts
Turn a prompt or script into a narrated video or short.
A short is a Video made in Short mode: portrait, one host to start, and an instrumental score by default. Both are created the same way and land in the Videos library. To compare them with Voiceovers, see choose a video product.
Create a video or short
- Open Home and switch the composer to Video or Short mode. Or open Videos in the sidebar, click Create Video, and pick a Workflow such as Idea to Video, Article to Short or Audio to Video.
- Type a prompt, attach a source (a file, link or pasted text), or click Upload to add a finished script or your own recording. A source with an empty prompt produces a video built from the source.
- Pick your Characters in casting order. With more than one, Jellypod writes a conversational script and gives each paragraph a host.
- Pick a visual style from the style rail.
- Set length, orientation, language, watermark and Brand Kit; see creation settings.
- Click Generate. Jellypod opens Videos so you can follow progress.
The style and orientation are fixed once generation starts. Automations can also generate videos and shorts on a schedule or from an inbound email.
Use your own script or recording
An uploaded script is for finished narration: Jellypod keeps every spoken word in order, skips research and script writing, and sets the length to Auto. To have a document summarized or rewritten, attach it as a source instead. Speaker labels and matching are in use your own script, and how Studio handles a script found in your prompt or sources is in creation settings.
To narrate with your own voice, upload a recording instead. Jellypod keeps your audio, transcribes it for captions and adds visuals, and its length decides whether you get a short or a video; see upload your recording.
What Jellypod generates
Jellypod voices each paragraph in its Character’s Voice and generates visuals in your style, shot by shot, with transitions only where they help and word-synced captions in the style’s default.
A short also gets an original instrumental score, ducked under the narration. To skip it, open the settings icon in the composer and turn off Background music before you click Generate. A Video starts without music. Add, replace or remove music later in the video editor.
Generation takes a few minutes. Click the generating card to follow progress and read the script as it arrives; editing opens once narration and visuals are ready. If some narration could not be voiced, the visuals and finished audio stay editable while you repair the missing paragraphs. Then edit in the video editor and share or download from the Videos library. If it stops, see video generation failures.
Credit cost
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Narration | 30 credits per minute, none for your own recording |
| Generated image | 7 credits |
| Generated video clip | 20 credits |
| Rendering | Free |
Credits are held when you click Generate and settle to what was produced; a worked example is in estimates and holds. The estimate next to Generate follows the style, since some styles draw only images, and a short’s quote is rounded up to the next 5 credits. Each plan caps length and locks longer presets; see plan limits.
