Create your first podcast
Set up a new podcast and its hosts.
A podcast is a series of episodes with its own title, description, hosts and settings. Every new account starts with a Private podcast called My First Podcast and two default characters, so you can create on the Free plan right away.
Create a podcast
- Click Podcasts in the sidebar.
- Click New Podcast. Optional settings sit under More options.
- Fill in the fields below, then click Create Podcast.
The podcast appears in your list, ready for the next Get started step, your first episode.
Generate with AI
Click Generate with AI at the top of the dialog, describe your idea in up to 4,000 characters, then click Generate details. Jellypod drafts a title and description and picks one or two of your existing hosts, so you need at least one character first.
Jellypod writes in the language you ask for, otherwise the language of your idea, and sets Language to match. Edit any of it before you create the podcast.
Required fields
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Title | Up to 100 characters. |
| Language | Defaults to a supported language matching your browser, otherwise English. Episodes are generated in this language, whatever a host’s voice is tuned for. |
| Hosts | At least one character. Episodes use these hosts by default and can override them. |
| Description | 10 to 3,000 characters, with basic rich text. |
A host tuned for a different language than the podcast triggers a warning that it may sound less natural.
Optional fields
- Cover Art: upload an image, or leave it blank and Jellypod generates one from your title and description. If generation fails, the podcast is created without cover art.
- Visibility: Private by default, with no website, RSS feed or share links; you download episodes from the Studio. Public adds a website, RSS feed and distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube. Switch any time; see podcast visibility.
- More options: Podcast Author, credited in podcast directories and prefilled with your name, and Type, either Episodic or Serial.
What Jellypod sets up for you
Jellypod picks up to 2 directory categories from your title and description, and a free yourshow.jellypod.com subdomain from your title. The podcast starts with no intro and no podcast sources. Change these later in podcast details, change your subdomain, or generate a podcast intro.
