Podcast visibility
Control who can find and play your podcast.
Visibility decides which parts of publishing and distribution reach people outside your workspace. New podcasts start Private unless you choose Public when you create them.
| Public | Private | Unlisted (legacy) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website | Online and indexed by search engines | Not found for anyone, even by direct link | Online by direct link, not indexed |
| RSS feed | Served | Not found for anyone | Served |
| Share links | Available | Only for episodes with Public access | Available |
| Embeds | Available | Not available | Available |
| Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube | Can be distributed | Not reachable | Studio asks you to make the podcast public first |
| Downloads from the Studio | Available | Available | Available |
Search engines index a Public website only once it has a published episode. A Private podcast works as a workspace for generating and downloading episodes.
Change visibility
Choose Advanced from the podcast’s actions menu (see podcast details), set Visibility, and click Save. Switching to Private takes the website and feed offline, though episodes with Public access stay shareable by link. Switching back to Public restores both.
Archiving a podcast only hides it in the Studio and does not change its visibility.
Publish on a private podcast
The publish dialog first offers Make public, which turns on the website, RSS feed, and distribution and continues publishing, or Keep private, which finalizes the episode with no website or feed and stops asking for that podcast. A private episode can still be downloaded by workspace members, or shared outside the workspace by setting its access to Public in the Share dialog.
Unlisted podcasts
New podcasts cannot be Unlisted. Existing Unlisted podcasts keep working and can move to Public or Private, but not back to Unlisted.
