Brand kits

Keep your branding consistent across everything you make.

A Brand Kit is your organization’s reusable set of colors, logos and fonts, applied to a Podcast, a Series, or a single Short or Video.

Your plan sets how many kits you can save. Kits created automatically to preserve an existing Podcast do not count. On a plan without Brand Kits, the Brand Kits page says so and the composers show no brand choices.

Create a brand kit

  1. Open Brand Kits in the Personalize section of the Studio sidebar and click New Brand Kit.
  2. Choose a start:
    • Create from website: enter your URL. Jellypod finds a brand name, logos, colors and the closest Google font, then opens the editor pre-filled. Nothing saves until you confirm.
    • Set up manually: start with empty fields.
  3. Enter a Brand name, unique within your organization.
  4. Pick the five colors (Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background and Text) with the color wheel or a hex value. Only Primary is required.
  5. Optionally upload Logo for light backgrounds and Logo for dark backgrounds: PNG, JPG or WebP up to 3 MB, ideally with a transparent background.
  6. Set fonts and video defaults, then save.

To refill an existing kit from its website, click Import in the Import from your website card. If the kit already has details, it asks before replacing them.

Fonts

Under Fonts, set a Heading and a Body font; if you set only one, it fills both roles. Search Google Fonts, or upload TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 files up to 4 MB each after confirming I have the right to use this font. Add Bold or Italic files to the same font. When a weight is missing, Jellypod uses the closest weight you uploaded rather than faking bold.

Video defaults

  • Use Heading font for captions: sets the kit’s caption font preference. Caption style and visibility are chosen in each composition’s editor.
  • Watermark: choose the kit logo or upload another image, then Top left, Top right, Bottom left or Bottom right. Custom watermarks need a plan that includes them.

Set an organization default

Open a kit’s menu on the Brand Kits page and choose Set as default. New Episodes, Shorts and Videos start from it, and a Podcast with no brand choice of its own follows it.

Apply a brand kit

On a podcast

Choose Brand from the Podcast’s actions menu, then Organization default or another kit. The Podcast website uses the kit’s accent color, the Heading font for headings and the Body font for other text. It follows the kit live, so editing the kit updates the website.

Episode videos use the kit’s Background color, then Secondary, then Primary. A background color you pick for one Episode wins until you apply a kit again.

On a series

Choose a Series’ Brand Kit in New Series on the Videos page, or later under Brand in the Series’ menu. A Series starts on the organization default; pick the selected kit again for No Brand Kit. New Shorts, Videos and Voiceovers created inside the Series use its choice, and the composer’s Brand Kit picker starts on it. Content already in a Series keeps its own kit, including content you move in.

On a short or video

When your organization has a kit, the composer shows a Brand Kit picker, starting on the default kit, or No Brand Kit when no kit is the default. Pick another kit from the list, or pick the selected kit again to use No Brand Kit for that creation. See video creation settings for the other options.

Each video style uses a set share of your palette, shown on visual styles: Full applies the whole palette, Accent only the accent color, and None keeps the style’s own colors. The style still controls its own art direction and caption layout.

In the editor’s caption picker, Font offers Brand Kit (the kit’s Heading font) or Style default, separate from the caption style.

To show the kit logo as a watermark, open Edit Logo in the editor or Add Watermark/Logo in the composer’s settings and choose Use Brand Kit logo. With both logos, pick Auto to match the background, or Light or Dark. With No Brand Kit, no logo shows.

Update content after editing a kit

Each Episode, Short and Video snapshots its kit when it is made, so editing a kit doesn’t change existing content until you update it.

  1. Open the content in the editor and click Brand Kit under the preview. A dot means the kit changed since the content was made.
  2. Click Update with the current kit selected to apply its latest colors, logo and fonts, or pick another kit or No Brand Kit and click Apply.

Updating and switching are free. Captions, the logo watermark, fonts and an Episode’s background change; generated images keep the colors they were made with.

Edit or delete a brand kit

Click a kit to edit it, or choose Delete Brand Kit from its menu. Deleting a kit detaches it from every Podcast that used it, including Podcasts following it as the default, but their appearance stays the same. Content you already made keeps the deleted kit’s last values.

To delete the default kit while other kits remain, choose a replacement default first.

Troubleshooting

Problem Fix
No Brand Kit picker in the composer You have no kits yet, or your plan does not include them.
New Brand Kit opens an upgrade prompt You reached your plan’s kit limit (“Your plan’s Brand Kit limit is reached”). Delete a kit or upgrade.
Captions are bold wrongly or not at all Your uploaded font may lack a Bold file. Add one to the same font.
A Video still shows the old logo or font Update it. Generated images keep their colors until you regenerate them.
A Video ignored my colors Its style is None, or Accent so only the accent applies.
