title: Publish through Buffer
description: Share Videos and Shorts to TikTok, LinkedIn, and more through Buffer.
---

Connect your Buffer account to post Videos and Shorts to the social channels you manage in Buffer. Each Buffer channel you add becomes a [Channel](/publishing-and-distribution/channels) in Jellypod, so it counts toward your plan's Channel limit and publishes like any other Channel.

Jellypod can post video to these Buffer channels: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon.

## Connect Buffer

1. Connect your social accounts in Buffer first.
2. In Jellypod, open Channels in the Studio sidebar and click Connect on the Buffer card.
3. Sign in to Buffer and authorize Jellypod.
4. In the Buffer channels dialog, check the channels to add and click Add, which names how many you picked.

To change your picks later, click Manage channels on the Buffer card. Unchecking a channel removes it from Jellypod. Click Connect another Buffer account in the same dialog to add channels from a second Buffer account. Once you reach your plan's limit, the rest of the list is unavailable until you uncheck one or upgrade.

## Choose when Buffer posts

Open a Buffer Channel's menu on the Channels page and choose Channel settings. Under When Jellypod publishes, pick:

- Post Immediately: Buffer posts it right away.
- Add to Buffer queue: Buffer posts it in the channel's next open slot.

This setting applies to every Publish to that Channel and cannot be changed in the Publish form. Channel settings also holds the AI label and Auto-select when publishing; see [Publish defaults](/publishing-and-distribution/channels#publish-defaults).

## Publish

Open a Video or Short, click Publish, and choose the network's row, for example Publish to TikTok. Buffer Channels show the network's logo with Buffer's mark. Write the post text, and click Publish.

- Most networks take one post text. A YouTube channel in Buffer takes a title and description, plus visibility and audience like [YouTube](/publishing-and-distribution/publishing-to-youtube#connect-and-publish).
- Label as AI-generated passes an AI label to networks that support one.
- The counter under the text shows the network's limit: 280 characters for X, 300 for Bluesky, 500 for Threads and Mastodon, 2,200 for Instagram and TikTok, 3,000 for LinkedIn, and 5,000 for YouTube.

### Video length and format

A Channel row says when a video is too long for its network.

| Network | Longest video | Posts as |
|---|---|---|
| X | 140 seconds | Video post |
| Bluesky | 3 minutes | Video post |
| Threads | 5 minutes | Video post |
| TikTok | 10 minutes | TikTok video |
| Instagram | 15 minutes | Instagram Reel |
| LinkedIn | 30 minutes | Video post |
| Facebook | No limit | Reel for a vertical video up to 90 seconds, otherwise a video |
| Mastodon | No limit | Video post |
| YouTube | 3 minutes | YouTube Short only |

Buffer posts only Shorts to YouTube: a vertical or square video up to 3 minutes. To post a longer video, [connect YouTube directly](/publishing-and-distribution/publishing-to-youtube).

## Plays and results

[Insights](/publishing-and-distribution/insights) counts your Buffer posts per Channel. Only YouTube channels report views to Jellypod, so other networks show posts but no plays. Check post performance in Buffer.

Removing a Buffer Channel in Jellypod leaves its posts and your Buffer account unchanged.
