Insights, in the Studio sidebar, shows how your Episodes, Videos, and Shorts perform across your podcast feeds, the Jellypod player, and your [Channels](/publishing-and-distribution/channels), with suggested next steps. It covers everything you [publish and distribute](/publishing-and-distribution). For one podcast's countries, apps, and devices, use its [Analytics tab](/publishing-and-distribution/analytics).

## Where plays come from

Total plays adds three sources:

- Podcast apps: episode downloads in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other apps, counted only for podcasts with [analytics turned on](/publishing-and-distribution/analytics#turn-on-analytics).
- Jellypod player: Episodes, Videos, and Shorts played on your Jellypod pages, share links, and embeds.
- YouTube: views of what you posted to YouTube Channels.

Other networks you post to through [Buffer](/publishing-and-distribution/publishing-to-buffer) show posts but no plays. Podcast app numbers refresh every 12 hours, and the Summary says what date they are current to.

## Filter the view

Pick a period: 7 days, 30 days (the default), Month to date, Last month, or a custom range of up to 180 days. Every number is compared with the period just before it. Days follow UTC.

You can also narrow to one podcast or video series, and to Episodes, Videos, or Shorts.

## What the page shows

| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Your next steps | Up to three suggestions with a button for each, such as reconnecting a Channel, publishing finished drafts, or making a Short from your best piece. Steps you complete are marked Done |
| Summary | Total plays, Watch time, Published, and Channels posted to, plus your Content created activity |
| Plays over time | Daily plays, split into Podcast apps, Jellypod player, and YouTube |
| Top 5 | Your best content, ranked by Plays or Watch time. Make a Short opens a Short prompt from that piece |
| Sources | Items published and plays for your podcast feeds, the Jellypod player, and each Channel |
| Podcasts & series | Items published and plays for each podcast and video series |

Watch time counts only the Jellypod player and YouTube, since podcast apps do not report it. Published counts each Episode, Video, or Short once, on the day it first reached a podcast feed or a Channel.

Next steps cover your whole library even when you filter, and they refresh about every 12 hours.
