Seasons optionally group an [AI Podcasts](/podcasts-and-episodes) Podcast's Episodes. A Podcast with no seasons keeps its feed and website as they are.

## Create a season

In the Podcast's episode list, click Seasons next to the search bar, then Add Season.

Seasons are numbered automatically, and you can't set, change or reorder the numbers. Type an optional title, such as "The Reckoning", in the season's title field; it saves when you click away.

## Assign episodes to a season

- Published or scheduled Episode: open it, click Edit Episode Details, and pick a season in Season, or No season. See [Episode details](/podcasts-and-episodes/editing-episode-details).
- Draft: pick the season in Season on the editor's Details tab.

Click New beside Season in either place to create a season and move the Episode into it.

## Delete a season

Open Seasons, click the delete icon on the season, then click Delete Season. Its Episodes stay published and become seasonless, and you can reassign them later.

## How seasons appear

- RSS feed: Episodes in a season carry `itunes:season` and `podcast:season` tags, with the title in the `name` attribute of `podcast:season` when set. `itunes:episode` counts from 1 within each season, in publish order, and seasonless Episodes are numbered among themselves. - Podcast website: the episode list is grouped by season under the season title, or "Season N" without one. Seasonless Episodes sit in a group with no heading. See [Your podcast website](/publishing-and-distribution/your-podcast-website).
