Each Episode in an [AI Podcasts](/podcasts-and-episodes) episode list has a status badge. Hover over it for a date or detail.

## Generating

The first generation is running. Click the row to open the editor, follow progress in the preview and read the script as it arrives. See [Watch it generate](/getting-started/creating-your-first-episode#watch-it-generate).

## Failed

The first generation did not finish. Hover over the badge for the error, or click the row to open the Generation failed dialog. See [Episode generation failed](/podcasts-and-episodes/episode-generation-failed).

## Draft

A new or duplicated Episode that is not live. While a draft renders for publication, the badge reads Publishing.

## Scheduled

The Episode publishes automatically at the scheduled time. The three-dot menu has Edit Schedule (reschedule, or Publish Now) and Cancel Schedule. See [Scheduling episodes](/publishing-and-distribution/scheduling-episodes).

## Published

The Episode is live in your RSS feed, on your podcast website and on connected directories. To change a live Episode without unpublishing it, see [Publish an episode](/publishing-and-distribution/publishing-an-episode).

## Change status

| Draft | Published | Publish the Episode |
| Draft | Scheduled | Schedule a future publish date |
| Scheduled | Draft | Cancel Schedule in the three-dot menu |
| Scheduled | Published | Automatic at the scheduled time, or Publish Now in Edit Schedule |

Returning an Episode to Draft keeps all its content.
