title: Download an episode
description: Download an episode and its transcript.
---

An [AI Podcasts](/podcasts-and-episodes) Episode downloads as an MP4 video, with your template and aspect ratio, or as an MP3. Its transcript, SRT captions and script text download separately.

Downloads and renders cost no Credits; Credits are charged when narration and visuals generate (see [Credits](/getting-started/understanding-credits)). Downloading needs a free trial or a paid plan, and trial video carries a small "Made with Jellypod" watermark until your paid plan starts; see [Free plan](/account-and-billing/plans-and-pricing#free-plan).

You don't need to publish to download: an unpublished Episode downloads your latest saved version, labeled Saved.

## Where you can download

| Where | How | What you get |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Episode editor | Download in the toolbar | Renders your latest edits as audio or video, then downloads |
| Episode page | Download icon beside Share Episode | Download Published Audio / Video at once. With no video yet, Render & Download Video renders the latest saved edits |
| Episodes table | Row's three-dot menu | Download Published Video, Audio and Captions (SRT), each shown when available |

## Download from the editor

Open the Episode, click Download, pick Download Audio (default) or Download Video, then click the button. Voiceovers offer video only.

The script and timeline are read-only while the render runs. Earlier renders are in [Exports](#exports-tab), without later edits.

Business and Enterprise workspaces can choose Download as SCORM in the download dialog to package media with learner progress, completion and resume. See [SCORM exports](/scorm-exports).

### Choose which audio to render

If some lines have no audio, or their audio no longer matches the script, Voice choices or pronunciations, Export current audio? opens:

- Export without these lines (missing audio) or Export existing audio (out-of-date audio) renders now with the audio on your timeline and matching captions.
- Cancel returns to the editor so you can [generate or regenerate those lines](/podcasts-and-episodes/regenerating-individual-segments).

Your script edits stay saved either way, and you're asked again next time.

## Download the transcript or captions

The transcript and captions are created when the Episode is [published](/publishing-and-distribution/publishing-an-episode) or rendered for download. Captions come from the audio's timing data, so an Episode without it has no captions file.

1. Open the Episode from your Podcast's episode list.
2. In the Transcript section, click Download Transcript.
3. Choose Transcript (.txt) or Captions (.srt).

The transcript lists each chapter title, then each turn as the speaker name in brackets, such as `[Host Name]`, followed by the text.

Until a file exists its option is grayed out, and the Transcript section is hidden when neither does. Publish or render the Episode to create them, or export the script below.

## Download the script as text

This exports the editable script, so it works on any Episode with a script, published or not, and the same way in Videos, Shorts and Voiceover workspaces.

1. Click the three-dot Import / Export menu in the actions area.
2. Click Export Script.

A .txt file named after the title downloads, with each turn as `[Host Name]` on one line and the text below. To bring a script back in, see [Use your own script](/podcasts-and-episodes/use-your-own-script).

## Download messages

- Can't create a new render yet: usually the Episode is still generating or another render is running. Follow the reason shown and try again, or download an earlier render from Exports.
- Downloaded an earlier version: you edited during the render. Download again to include the edits.
- File still being prepared: the render finished, but the file can take a few minutes to appear in Exports.
- Your file is ready, with a Save button: on iPhone and iPad, tap Save to open the file in a new tab.
- An option is greyed out: audio has no render yet. Video without a render stays available as Render & Download Video.

## Exports tab

Settings → Exports lists up to 100 renders, newest first, for every role. Each row shows the title, type, a Rendering or Failed badge while unfinished, and the creation date. Shorts and Videos both show as type Video; Clip rows are older renders of a retired feature.

A render is added when you publish an Episode or render through Download or Share, not when you create or edit. Each row's menu offers Download Video and Download Audio when available (audio needs a plan that includes it).

For a Short or Video, see [Share, render and download](/video-library-and-sharing#share-render-and-download).
