title: Languages and accents
description: How content language and voice language work together.
---

Jellypod supports 121 languages. The language your content is written in and the language a [Character's](/characters-and-voices) Voice is tuned for are separate settings.

## Set the content language [#episode-language-comes-from-the-podcast]

Episode scripts are always written in the Podcast's Language setting, never in a host's Dominant language; see [editing podcast details](/podcasts-and-episodes/editing-podcast-details). For Shorts, Videos and Voiceovers, you pick the [narration language](/video-creation-settings#narration-language) on the creation screen.

## Match a voice to the language [#voices-are-tuned-to-a-language-and-accent]

Each Voice Library Voice is tuned to one language and accent. Pick one made for your listeners, such as a Mexican Spanish Voice for a Spanish Episode aimed at Mexico; the [Voice Library](/characters-and-voices/browsing-the-voice-library) filters by both. A [voice clone](/characters-and-voices/voice-cloning) uses a multilingual model, so it works in Episodes in other languages.

## Dominant language and host warnings

A Voice's Dominant language is the language it sounds most native in, shown as Language in the Voice Library. It comes from the Voice itself for Voice Library Voices and clones, and from the backstory for designed Voices.

When a selected host's Dominant language differs from the Podcast's language, or a host has none set, a note beside the host picker says that host may sound unnatural. If no host matches, the note links to Create a matching Host.

The note never blocks generation; the Episode is still written and voiced in the Podcast's language. To clear it, pick a host whose Dominant language matches, or change the Podcast's language.
